Dear sponsors and friends,

the Nice View Team in Kenya had to take the hard decision to relocate the tailor shop again on the premises of the children’s villages (Nice View II).
This ensures a better guidance and supervision of the co-workers and the children can acquire basic knowledge of sewing on site.

Dear sponsors and friends,

Like every year, MOCK exams are conducted in advance of the final exams at the end of the year (in Kenya the school year ends at the year-end). This allows the pupils, teachers and school to figure out where they are.

October 2018: Repair Makutiroofs

In recent years, there has been more rain than before in Kenya’s coastal regions. Presumably this is a result of the climate change.

As a result of this, the makuti (palm-leaves) has no time for drying and the roofs are rotting very fast and need to be constantly repaired. In the past, the lifetime of a roof was about 8 to 10 years, at the moment only 2 or 3 years. Therefore, the costs of the makutiroofs are unfortunately higher than the plans. We would be very happy with any financial support.

We are pleased to report about Lavenda. She successfully completed the secondary school at the end of the last year. She missed a few points to a B-, but a C+ is also an excellent result. Unfortunately, this was not enough to fulfill her career wish to become a nurse. However, she has decided to follow in Haji’s footsteps and become a teacher for English and Literature on secondary schools. We wish her much success!!
